In-Covenant (i.e., Membership)
What does it mean to be a Christian? Being a Christian means being "In Covenant" with God and each other. A covenant is a special bond--more than a simple contract. Although you can be a member of a library, a gym, or a neighborhood association: none of these come close to reflecting the relational commitment God makes to us.
How to become an In-Covenant member at Liberti Fairmount:
Step 1: Participate In Worship
Our Sunday morning gatherings are the central way that we are spiritually connected and nourished together as a church family. All of the worship at Liberti Fairmount is designed to focus our minds and hearts around the person of Jesus Christ. We do this through a mixture of singing, confession, prayer, the reading and exposition of Scripture, offering, creed, and the Lord’s Supper.
Step 2: Join a Group
A church isn’t simply an event to attend, but a community to belong to. That's why we encourage everyone at Liberti Fairmount to attend our midweek gathering for a meal together followed by a study.
Step 3: Serve In Ministry
Our freedom in Christ means Participation - we contribute to the life of the church with our time, talent, and treasure. Check out our Who We Are page for ways in which you can serve (be sure to scroll down to who’s doing what to get a feel for the teams). Fill our our Connection Card to let us know how you’d like to get involved. To support our Church’s ministry financially, you can set up your giving here.
Step 4: In-Covenant Brunch
This brunch after the worship service offers an opportunity to spend time getting to know others and getting to know Liberti Fairmount church. There will be time to enjoy a meal together, ask questions, learn about Christian faith and what it means to be a member of Liberti Fairmount. Connect with Pastor Scott to set up a time.
Step 5: One-on-One or small group meeting with a church leader
If you decide you would like to be an In-Covenant member at Liberti Church Fairmount, you will meet with the pastor and another church leader. At this time you will be able to share your story of faith, ask further questions, and consider how to get involved in the life of the church.
Step 6: In-Covenant Vows
For those who would like to become In-Covenant members of Liberti Church, the final step is to make a public promise to God and his people in a worship service. If you are becoming a Christian, this will be an opportunity to celebrate the story of God's grace in your life, and be baptized if you haven’t been already.
